| How long does shipping take? |
| We aim to ship all goods within 7 days although
we do ask that you allow up to 21 days for an item to be shipped on all
orders. Every now and again we do go unexpectedly out of stock on an item
and may be waiting for a new delivery from the factory. |
| Is all the jewellery 'real' silver? |
Absolutely! As with gold, silver can come
in different qualities depending on the amount of 'other materials' included
and the intended use. 100% pure silver is not usually used in jewellery
simply because it's far too soft. Instead other materials are introduced
to harden then silver up a little.
The usual quality of silver jewellery (and that used by all of our silver
jewellery unless otherwise stated) is 925 or 'sterling silver'. This simply
means that all of our jewellery is at least 92.5% pure silver with the
remaining 7.5% usually being copper as is the standard throughout the industry. |
| Is all of your jewellery hallmarked? |
The law requires that all silver jewellery
over 7.78g is hallmarked. Any silver jewellery under this weight need not
be hallmarked but MUST be as described ie made from silver. No company is
allowed to use the description 'silver' unless it is true.
This means that the vast majority of our products are hallmarked, however
some of the small items such as the very delicate chains, small stud earrings
etc may not be. However, whether hallmarked or not all our items are sterling
silver as outlined in the FAQ above. |
| My goods haven't arrived, what do I do? |
| Contact
us first with as many details as possible and we shall look into the
matter immediately. Please remember that we do ask you to allow up to 21
days for an item to be dispatched although it is unusual for us to take
this long. Please also remember that certain destinations outside of the
UK can take 10 days for shipping. |
| Is it safe to use my credit card for payment
online? |
It's very safe but...
You need to be sensible and take precautions to make sure
this is so. Firstly only use sites that you feel that you can trust when
paying. These may be sites such as major retailers or smaller sites that
use secure payment systems (such as Nochex or PayPal). Ensure that when
you are submitting your credit card details a small padlock image is visible
at the bottom of your browser.
Hot-Jewellery, silverjewelleryworld.co.uk and its associated sites only
use PayPal or Nochex for payment for security reasons. We know that by processing
through these companies your information will remain 100% safe and is in
fact FAR safer than giving sensitive credit card information over the telephone. |
| Do you sell wholesale? |
| At this moment in time we only sell to retail
customers. However there are plans for this to change in the near future. |
| Can you send me a catalogue? |
| Unfortunately no. Selling online helps us
to keep costs much lower - the reason that you will find us cheaper than
many high street stores. As our entire catalogue is available online we
have no printed catalogue available as this would only help to increase
costs and thus prices. |
| Can you accept telephone orders? |
| Unfortunately no - simply for security reasons. It
is not safe to give credit card details over the telephone and we would
advise against ever doing so unless you have no other choice. The Nochex
and PayPal payment systems we use are 100% secure and FAR more secure than
giving details to strangers over the telephone. |
